Staying Active

Staying active is pretty easy in Bukoba.  Walking to the Kiteyagwa School office, going to the beach, running the rugged roads near our house, running soccer practice, or doing Turbo Jam videos at night, I certainly am moving!  My favorite activity is probably Turbo Jam, and the girls here whole-heartedly agree.  After even just a few days missing our evening workouts, I hear around the house, “I MISS Turbo Jam, lets play it tonight!!”  We recruited four regulars, one spectator, and at least as many outsiders that stop in to see what all the fuss is about.  I’ve known this all along, and so happy to experience it here too- working out with roommates/ family is the BEST, and you workout far more often than if you were in it alone.

Flavia is our in-house actress; she can morph into just about anyone at the drop of a hat.  Below she took the liberty of using some props to be the “non-Swahili speaking American soccer coach”.  Very entertaining.  Our favorite person to imitate around the house?  Mr. Bean, hands down.  We enjoy watching his videos when the internet is running well.

That is all up-hill, and it is also the last half of my run.. I have a new respect for my family& friends who run in Colorado!

A nice walk after work with co-workers to this beautiful rocky beach!
A day of Turbo Jam...

I should step up my game though so I can <> "try" to keep up with you when you come back!

    Miss you! Praying for ya!
