Important Update
If you are keeping track of dates, you may be wondering why I am not writing about my new home in Bukoba, TZ. I was scheduled to arrive late Saturday evening (January 4th), but that did not happen. One day before I was scheduled to depart for Tanzania, the director of COSAD, Smart, became very sick and was admitted to the hospital. The next day, my flight was canceled due to the storms on the east coast. My flight was rescheduled for the following Tuesday, but on Saturday we learned Smart had been transferred to the nearest large-city hospital in Tanzania. Due to his condition, they decided the best course of action would be to fly him to the US to pursue treatment as soon as he is stable enough to fly.
We postponed my trip because Smart was the one preparing to train me in my role at COSAD and introduce me to life in Bukoba. We will take further steps of planning later on. Our first priority is to see Smart's health restored and his family at ease. We are hoping he will be well enough to fly back to the US to receive treatment soon. Please lift then up in your thoughts and prayers.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Thank you to everyone who is concerned and praying for this very difficult situation for Smart and his family.
