Giving Goats to Kitwe Women!

On Tuesday, after what seemed like a long wait, the goat farm successfully provided ten strong and healthy goats to ten women in Kitwe Village!! It was an experience I cannot wait to do again. Mr. Drasius Emmanuel, veterinarian, selected the best goats from the goat farm and oversaw the distribution in the village. In the village, he also took time to advise the women.

Ms. Mickie Donan, an English Lanuage Fellow assigned by the US Embassy to teach at a local college near Bukoba, accompanied COSAD as we distributed the goats. Ms. Donan has been helping COSAD quite a lot despite her busy teaching schedule, most recently helping to complete a grant related to the OWOG program.

I am looking forward to the days ahead when we will do follow-up meetings & gatherings to see how the women are adjusting to their new additions. Days like today convince me better and brighter things are in store for each family, and I hope these goats play a role in it!
