Recording Studio Up & Running!
The past two week at COSAD have been festive! Though many families in Bukoba travel for the month of December, we decided to begin offering groups and individuals the ability to record at our “Imuka Recording Studio” for the first time. During the first week we had two songs recorded by eager artists. It has been delightful to see these individuals and choirs wanting to capture their culture and “art” through recording. Outside of promoting culture and giving local choirs a chance to keep their music for years to come, profits will go back into COSAD’s community projects. I think I underestimated how well this service would be received; Tanzania is truly a place where music and culture is highly valued! I can’t wait to meet more local talent and hear the fantastic music.(Check out the video at the bottom. Mickie, a close friend of COSAD, shares in the excitement by jamming out to our first artist's single :) )
Dan - also known as "Dan Magic" if you're looking on Facebook - arrived in Bukoba two weeks ago to share his talent as an accomplished producer. |
